Hello. I have been using HydraCore, which I found here for some time on my Note N7000. It appears that both development and discussion threads are closed now. Saw one post suggesting this is because it is no longer supported by its author. I have no idea why and would like to know. Perhaps because it doesn't support JB? Even so, there are those using this kernel who have questions. Here is mine:
I want to use my Keyspan USB-serial adapter on my Note. In reviewing the source code for Samsung's official 4.0.4 code, I can see files for the Keyspan. When I plug it in and do an lsusb in a terminal, I can see that it is added on the usb bus. However, I do not see any ttyUSB entry created in the device's /dev directory and I have been led to believe I should see this.
I have tried a couple USB/Serial terminal programs off the Play Market. But none seem to be able to do anything with this adapter. It could be because they do not support the chipset or something else. But I wonder if it is because HyrdaCore doesn't support this.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Can anyone suggest a terminal app I could use to test how this works to, say, my old Hayes modem? I figure I should be able to at least send some AT commands and see a response. I am not able to do this so far.
Thanks!
