[Q] Flash counter

I was looking for a way to check on the binary flash counter if by flashing a stock ICS kernel from ODIN did add a counter on my unit. I found an instruction saying to do volume down+home+power buttons and when I did there was a warning saying that proceeding can be risky press volume down to cancel and press volume up to continue...I did press volume up to continue and was then moved to a download screen showing a screen where it says downloading please do not turn off the target unit. It did show the binary counter as NO...my concern now is that after I checked I did turn the phone off and tuned it on again without finishing the said dowload...I have not noticed any change or anything unusual...but am afraid that I might have abnormally terminated an update or installation that might have damaged some parts of my system in some way...just wanna know what that screen is dowloading and what effect does it have on my phone? What would happen if I waited for it to finish downloading? Is aborting that download safe (no after effects)?

I'm on stock ICS 4.0.4 LRK german rom and philz safe kernel by the way.
