[Q] Superbricked moving from Supernexus 2.0 Build 2 to Stock_Odex_Rooted_N7000XXLSZ

Somehow or other I seem to have superbricked my N7000 changing from Supernexus 2.0 Build 2 to Stock_Odex_Rooted_N7000XXLSZ_N7000. (Fool! I was so happy with that ROM. Why do we tinker?)

I have flashed dozens of ROMs before and I didn't think it was possibly to superbrick going between jellybean ROMs. Oh well...

At first I couldn't get into recovery, but I can get into download mode.

I managed to flash Abyss 4.2 and enter recovery but restore of Supernexus failed and flashing other ROMs always fails at factoryfs.img.

Sounds like the dreaded EMMC bug... eek!!!

I have spent a day going through all the options I can find, in particular those suggested in the "Lets unbrick your phone thread", but no joy...

It seems to me my final option is to send it back to Samsung under warranty (it is about 14 months old now, but the warranty is 2 years; German n7000 bought from Amazon.de, so I think I will have to send it to Germany from Spain where I live).

I have ordered a jig to wipe away the binary counter and yellow triangle and should be able to try that out in about 10 days and then send it away for repair.

So here is my question (unless anyone has any last-ditch suggestions): any advice on prepping the phone to make sure I can claim on the guarantee, bearing in mind I can't flash any ROMs but can put the phone into download mode.
