Correct Way - Upgrading to Jelly Bean

Hey folks,

I am on Stock official ICS and will upgrade to Jelly Bean the moment its available via Kies in my country.

Now, I want to know what things I can do to be certain that I get flawless performance, wht is the correct way to upgrade OS.

Shall I perform factory reset, clear cache, Do I format my SD card after OS upgrade etc etc...

Plz provide tips.
